Get to know Pantone Color

What color is Pantone? ...
Pantone is a color system issued by pantone: www.pantone.com. There are 2 types of pantone colors: spot color and process color, spot is the color that has become so, not a mixture of cyan, magenta, yellow, black. while the color of the cmyk process, the superiority of spot colors is more stable, and the process color is unstable, sometimes the cyan is excess, sometimes the yellow, etc. and the color of the spot is also usually more 'bright'

Pantone colors are divided into two types, namely:

1. Pantone Coated (C)
is the pantone color printed on coated paper or coated paper before printing, so that the absorption of the paper can be very low. Examples are duplex, art paper, ivory and so on.

2. Pantone Uncoated (U)
Pantone color is printed on uncoated paper or paper that has no coating (coating) before printing, so the absorption of the paper is very high. An example is HVS paper.

There are 14 basic pantone colors, namely:

  • Pantone Yellow
  • Pantone Yellow 012
  • Pantone Orange
  • Pantone Warm red
  • Pantone Red 072
  • Pantone Rubine
  • Pantone Reflex Blue
  • Pantone Blue
  • Pantone Rhodamine
  • Pantone Purple
  • Pantone Violet
  • Pantone Black
  • Pantone Green
  • Pantone Red 032

So this pantone color is another alternative for designers besides using RGB and CMYK colors. Making approval or mock-up using pantone colors is very difficult because current printer technology does not support pantone colors. So please be warned if designing with this color will have weaknesses in making mock ups.

The types of pantone with the meaning are shiny solid coated, solid matte not shiny, pastel coated are pastel and shiny colors. there is no benchmark, it just depends on the scenario desired by the designer. for example he needs to love the impression of outstanding, modern & high tech, then maybe he chose the coated, if you need a feminine impression, maybe he chose the pastel.

In the CorelDRAW application we can use the pantone color by opening it in Menu Bar> Window> Color Palettes> More Palettes ...

In the Color Palete Manager dialog box you can open PANTONE colors

Now let's work again using pantone colors and hopefully it can become a collection of colors to make it even more stable
